SPEED is getting a little more than four tires and a tank of gas for the closing laps of the NASCAR season, committing to all-day coverage from the Hall of Fame inaugural class announcement on Oct. 14 and unveiling a new nightly show set to premiere the same week.

"There is only one 'first' when it comes to the NASCAR Hall of Fame, and SPEED believes the experience deserves extraordinary treatment," SPEED president Hunter Nickell said. "We will open the day by introducing fans to the voters and the process, while highlighting all 25 candidates.

"We'll then cut in live throughout the day, going live from the NASCAR press conference and going well into the evening with features and additional content on the inaugural class."

The new nightly show on SPEED, scheduled to debut at 7:30 p.m. ET on Oct. 12, will have a variety of familiar hosts and personalities, initially concentrating on the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship.

"This nightly extension of SPEED's signature weekend NASCAR coverage will provide fans the same spontaneous, fun and insightful access to the sport throughout the week," said Steve Craddock, SPEED SVP of Programming.

Later in October, SPEED will create an expanded Halloween weekend lineup from Talladega, including live Halloween night Camping World Truck Series racing, and a Dave Despain On Assignment special focusing on the story behind the famed track.

In addition to the major programming announcements, SPEED also will add 14 previously unscheduled NASCAR practice and qualifying sessions, while making a couple of notable on-air talent swaps.

Former driver Jimmie Spencer will join the regular Monday night lineup on This Week in NASCAR. Spencer will be replaced on NASCAR Victory Lane by Larry McReynolds, giving the SPEED post-race show a crew chief's perspective for the Chase.
